Welcome to My Travel Journals

About

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. I've been obsessed with traveling for 15+ years, ever since I studied abroad in Melbourne, Australia. Yes, if you do the math, this means I'm among the last of Generation X. The internet was just bubbling up when I was in high school and I got my first cellphone right after I graduated college. I’ve been to over 40 countries (some more than once or twice!) but I still get excited every time I book that airplane ticket out of my home base of NYC. To me, time is money and so I’m pretty obsessive with planning the logistics and efficiency of my trips to maximize my free time but also try to find the "best value" when possible. Friends are always asking me to help with their travel itineraries and I am always so thankful for other people's trip reports and suggestions so I hope to provide the same as well.

Whenever I haven't gone away in a while (usually 3 months), my soul feels like it's dying. I know that sounds a bit dramatic, but I just get this frustrated feeling of longing for inspiration. And I am most inspired by new experiences, culture, and natural beauty. I love to read and talk to people and gain a different perspective on life. These are the things that fulfill and nourish my soul.

While I would love to do nothing else but roam around the world endlessly, that's not realistic. So yes, I have a real world job (that I enjoy), and I live in one of the best cities in the world. I was born and raised in NYC and love it here. I've seen this city change so much, and hope to also share my NYC experiences from a local point of view.

Thanks for visiting and please bear with me as I figure this blogging thing out!

P.S. Yes, all pictures featured on this site are my own.
