Hi! I am the Girl Who Traveled. I'm a bit shy about finally creating what I've always wanted to--a "travel blog" to share my love for life, adventure & culture, but also super excited to share my experiences with anyone who relates to my passions.
I've been obsessed with traveling for 15+ years, ever since I studied abroad in Melbourne, Australia. Yes, if you do the math, this means I'm in my mid-to-late 30s. I recently hit the 50+ mark in terms of the number of trips I've taken since I graduated college but my spirit feels the same as it did back when I was 20 and left the U.S. for the first time. I get excited every time I book that airplane ticket out of my home base of NYC. I still obsessively plan the logistics of my trips and try to find the "best value" which suits my taste, needs, and time. Friends are always asking me to help with their travel itineraries and I am always so thankful for other people's trip reports and suggestions so I hope to provide the same as well.
Whenever I haven't gone away in a while (usually 3-6 months), my soul feels like it's dying. I know that sounds a bit dramatic, but I just get this frustrated feeling of longing for inspiration. And I am most inspired by new experiences, culture, and natural beauty. I love to read and talk to people and gain a different perspective on life. These are the things that fulfill and nourish my soul.
While I would love to do nothing else but roam around the world endlessly, that's not realistic. So yes, I have a real world job (that I enjoy), and I live in one of the best cities in the world. I was born and raised in NYC and love it here. I've seen this city change so much, and hope to also share my NYC experiences from a local point of view.
Thanks for visiting and please bear with me as I figure this blogging thing out!
P.S. Yes, all pictures featured on this site are my own.
